Sarocladium kiliense UNK

This genome represents one of two metagenome-extracted genomes that were recovered from contaminated DNA and RNA samples, initially part of the Aspergillus whole-genus sequencing project.

The top two metagenome bins for this sample matched Sarocladium kiliense UNK and Aspergillus bicolor CBS425.77. Binned DNA reads were assembled separately, and a shared transcriptome library was assembled by Trinity. Subsequently, the JGI Annotation Pipeline was used to produce structural and functional annotations.

Sarocladium kiliense, formerly known as Acremonium kiliense, is a ubiquitous soil saprobe that is also known to be an opportunistic human pathogen (1). Sarocladium is a member of the order Hypocreales and its genome sequence will enrich our understanding of evolution in the Sordariomycetes. (2)
