The genome sequence and gene prediction of Calcarisporiella thermophila CBS 279.70 have not been determined by the Joint Genome Institute (JGI), but were downloaded from CSFG on July 31, 2022. In order to allow comparative analyses with other fungal genomes sequenced by the JGI, a copy of this genome is incorporated into Mycocosm. Please note that this copy of the genome is not automatically updated. JGI tools were used to automatically annotate predicted proteins.

Calcarisporiella thermophila grows between 22 and 55 °C, with an optimum at 45 °C (1). It has been isolated from coal spoil tips as well as thermal effluent of a nuclear power plant (2-3). No evidence of lignocellulolytic properties have been reported but C. thermophila has shown antifungal activities against Candida parapsilosis (4). The genome sequence of C. thermophila is expected to provide a rich genetic resource for identifying thermostable enzymes.
